Tammy: I think I knew I had the right place when I found you guys by accident yesterday. I tried to log on this a.m., and aol sent a note saying they didn't endorse "some sites"...ticked me off...Then I couldn't get to this site by typing in www.opinfo.conforums.com Is this correct? If not, it's me I guess, but I don't want any more of aol's sarcasim. I got lucky this afternoon in logging on, but I had to go back to my aol search site to get on. Any advice?
I have chronic pain myself. Some of the doc's I've seen have never hurt a day in their life...hate to wish it on them, but they have no sympathy. Florida doc's that way too?

Hey... Welcome Welcome Welcome!!!!
Glad you finally made your way into here!!! It was a struggle, but you made it....
That's funny about AOL not endorsing some sites... Did they really tell you that?
How did you ask them, or what did you ask them?
I use AOL, and haven't ever had a problem...
I do remember a couple months back a new article talking about yahoo not including Online Pharms with their search engines... but how would AOL know what this discussion board was about? It's good that it's included in the search engines.... but I don't understand what happend when you said that AOL didn't endorse this site....
You have the URL correct.... The best thing to do, is save it to your favorites, so then you will always have it, but if you ever do lose it again, just let me know, and I'll send you the link in an email
And I know what you mean about wishing your pain upon your Doctor.... you wouldn't be the first and you won't be the last..... But I wouldn't make them walk a day in our shoes... I would make the try it for a week... a day would be too easy for them! And.... no meds for them either!!! Actually, no... I take that back....I would make them go a week with the same pain as us... but only give them two pain pills.... and that's all!!! And let them figure out which days to use them on... oh.... and no refills!!!! This way, they can see the relief that they get from the meds... then see how much they help... but not give them anymore so they can feel the pain the rest of the time!! We can all dream can't we?

Hi everyone, I am Sandy and it feels great to be here! I just read your comments about giving our pain to the docs, I think they shoulsd have to walk in our shoes for one day, and they would understand what we feel and the way they treat us, not wanting to give us pain meds that actually help. Have you guys seen the device they made for men to become pregnant so they feel everything the mom feels? That's what I think someone should do for our pain!!! You all seem so nice, and I am willing to open my shoulders for anyone that needs to cry or lean on or a hugg!! I like huggs so you'll probably get one everytime I talk to you. I hope no one gets offended by this. If so please let me know. Thanks for being here. Huggs, Sandy

HI there Sandy!!!!
And welcome to the CPer's Home!!!

You are so right about that "pain" thing you mentioned about making our Docs having to feel that pain!!!!!
That would be a fantastic idea for an invention, and us, as pain patients should be able to set it up to hurt as a maximum on the same areas that we hurt, and then hook it up to the Docs or even the pharmacists and nurses at the Docs office, and let them endour what we have to for the day.
Oh..... and not allow them to take any pain medication in the mean time! Oooooo, that's just too good to be true!!!
Well, we can dream can't we?
Thanks for putting that quick smile on my face!
Sweeeeet revenge
Maybe one day!
Well, welcome to the board!!!
My name is Tammylynn, and if you ever have any questions...... any at all, please feel free to drop me a note, you can always use the PM (private messaging) system thru the board, or you can always send me an email
Tammylynn2@aol.com

I hope you find what you need here, the members here are so much more different than anywhere else. They are some of the greatest support group you will ever find!!!

I just want to tell everyone "hello" and I'm glad I'm allowed to be part of this board. I got the password and tried to use it on the place that tells about the op's, but it didn't work. Do you have to be a member for a while before you can get the right password?
I'm a grandma and a wife and a friend and always in pain person! That says it all! I've had R.A. and fibromyagia and cfs for 9 years.
Hope I don't whine too much. I hate whining so I'll try to keep it to a moan. haha thanks again,

WELCOME! Although we are sorry that you are suffering, we are very happy that you have found us! You will find that this site is quite different than many other OP sites...that is because we are a SUPPORT board that also has some OP info. We consider ourselves a family, and we are glad to have you. As for the illnesses you mentioned, you will also find that many of us have those same illnesses...I have CFIDS and Fibro, Tammylynn has a specific and rare variety of RA, and we all have an intimate knowledge of severe and often debilitating pain. You will also find that our board is different because of the family atmosphere and because of the fact that we protect our boardies. You won't find any "flamming" here...we know how to disagree without attacking anyone. That is our only BIG rule. We demand that none of our boardies behave ignorantly by attacking any other boardie and we make darn sure that rule is followed...religiously. In other words, everyone here is an adult and they all play nice together.
Because of the caliber of our boardies, we have a family that is here to support, to offer help, to offer information, and any assistance we might be able to provide to our boardies. This is the absolute GREATEST bunch of peeps on the internet and if you are looking for a "soft place to fall" where everyone understands your pain and accepts you as a friend, you have found it. It is often the sad case that our own relatives and friends at home do not understand our pain and its intrustion in our lives, but here is a great group that will be here when you need someone to talk to, when you need someone to complain to, when you need someone to laugh with, or when you need a shoulder to cry on...we'll be here and we'll listen and, more importantly, we'll understand. Sometimes we rant and rave, sometimes we laugh, and sometimes we cry, but we all do it together. We are a family and we are glad you are here!
So if you ever want to "whine"...that's ok because sometimes we do too! So just think of us as an extension of your own family...that's how I feel about the peeps here, and I would be lost without this board.
As for the OP info, yes, we have decided to password protect that area and provide the password to members of our family that have chosen to become regular members of the family. You see, we don't take kindly to "recreational users" who give us all a very bad name. In order to ensure that those folks don't hang around long...because all they want is any helpful info we may be able to provide so they can access meds for their "recreation" and we don't give it to them. Since that is the only thing they look for, they don't want to waste time by becoming involved with us, so they just slip away fairly quickly. That leaves only those peeps who are really looking for support and assistance and those receive the password. So, please don't feel like we think you are one of the "rec users" because you don't receive the password immediately, we'd just like the pleasure of getting to know you and having you around for awhile...once we do, you can request the password from Tamms or myself and we will gladly provide it.
Again, Welcome to our family, and we hope that you will decide that you'd like to stay and get to know us too!

Hi There "WhatWillIDo"
Great pickin's on the name!! I've been there myself a few times!!! LOL!
Welcome to our home!
I'm so happy you joined us!
As you can see, Patti is the "writer" in the family. She sure knows how to put things into words perfectly!
I do have some members who have been here awhile asking me for the passwords to the other forums..... and I've had to not share it with them too, and just as Patti said, it's nothing personal....
The requesters don't have any posts, and it's not as if we want to "investigate" your background before giving you some helpful information......
So far, you are doing a great job! You put in your first post, and you are on your way!
We are so very happy that you joined our family here.... and I know soon enough you will be as happy as we are to have you here!
We don't charge any type of "joining" fee, our board is free to its members..... And the "private" areas are also free.... the only thing that it asks.....
Give a little then take a little.
If you ever have any questions..... please feel free to either email us, or send a Private Message thru the CPers board...... or you can always put in a post.....
Thanks again for joining!

 Thanks for the thoughtful messages. I already feel better.........just knowing there are others who understand. I really do have some good days! Hubby and I are both retired but have been caring for both moms. Now, they are gone and at peace. AND we want to feel less responsible.........so yesterday we just took off for the day and traveled around, stopped at a few casinos and won about 50 bucks. It was great.
It was a good day.
thanks again!

Is that so?
That means you live near casino's ? ! ? !
Ugh! You lucky dog!!!!!!
That would be tooooo dangerous for me!
Congrats on the winnings.
That's so great that you and your hubby took a day for yourself.
Even though it was just a day, it will give you many good days in return.
There's a saying around my house......

I, too, am very happy to have found this place.
To be honest, Kristi from MMS told me about you guys. Some of the best customer care in the world in my opinion.
The main reason I'm happy to be here is I have had my fill of boards that pick on people and flame them and make them feel worse when these boards were SUPPOSED to be for chronic pain/anxiety sufferers. To be honest, the last board I belonged to ADDED to my pain and suffering to the point, I ended up in tears almost every time I read something on the forum. I finally turned off notifications to replies and erased the URL from my Favorites.
That's OK, I have a new Favorite now--
I'm looking forward to meeting everyone (I know that will take a while) but I especially would like to share stories with fellow fibro and lupus sufferers.
OK, I'm off to read more posts. I'll be busy for days, but the posts are so pleasant and non-inflammatory and I do love to read!
God bless, Rhonda

Thanks, Nicole! I'm still doing a lot of reading on the board and I feel like I know some of you from your posts and life stories.
I'll be posting mine soon, but I warn you, it's long and complicated with fibro and lupus and heart and kidney problems
Love and pain-free days to all! Rhonda
